eras Cordon Reserva is 90% Tempranillo with vines that are 55 years old, 5% Mazuelo and 5% Granciano with vines that are both 18 years old. The production of the Rioja wine goes back to the 19th century with the Heras Cordon family and has stayed much the same in tradition and practice but has improved with modern technology over the years.

Reserva has aromas of black fruits such as pillory, plum and blackberries. When the glass is moved the intensity is heighten and intermixed with aromas of ginger and toffee. The palette is silky, fresh and marked by fruit and savory flavors with notes of licorice and black currants.
Heras Cordon Reserva has soft tannins and good structure. The weight on the palate is medium high. The aftertaste shows that it's a very well balanced wine. Reserva is a wonderful compliment to sausages, antipasti, all kinds of meat, and small game.
